Amanda is a lifelong reader; she started with The Babysitter's Little Sister series, and continued through The Magic Attic Club, The Babysitter's Club, The Pony Tails, The Saddle Club (yes, she was a 90s horse girl), Sweet Valley Twins, and Sweet Valley High. She found friends in those pages, and decided at 10 years old that her life's mission, like the authors she loved,  was to create characters that helped others feel understood and seen.

 

She went on to earn a Master of Arts in Theology and Christian Ministry in 2012, intending to become a youth minister. But the desire to read and write what she loved kept calling, so she earned a Master of Arts in English and Creative Writing with a Concentration in Fiction in 2017, followed shortly by a certificate in Small Business Entrepreneurship. 

 

Her journey to beta reading began in 2019 when she read indie author Claire Cain's Where You Go.  She slid into Claire's Instagram DMs to share her play-by-play thoughts, which thankfully, Claire enjoyed. Their discourse continued through Claire's backlist, until Fall 2020, when Claire asked Amanda to beta read The Problem With Planning, the first in her Solidiers Overseas series. She explained the kind of feedback she was looking for, and for Amanda, it was an easy yes!

 

Since 2020, Amanda has beta read over 50 books for more than 30 authors. In 2023, she added proofreading to her offerings.

 

Amanda is a military spouse and a mom, currently living in El Paso, Texas. In her spare time, you can find her curled up with a romance or a non-fiction book, watching Nora Ephron and John Hughes classics, or reading to her son and husband while they build Lego and Transformer figures.
